The easiest thanksgiving dessert recipe, creamy pumpkin pie on a homemade crust and topped with a with toasted meringue topping!
eggs egg yolk pumpkin puree salt cinnamon ginger nutmeg cloves sweetened condensed milk
pie crust egg white
eggs whites brown sugar vanilla extract
Make homemade buttermilk pie crust and roll onto a floured surface, place in a 9” pie plate, & refrigerate.
Whisk eggs with pumpkin puree, then add salt & spices & whisk together. Add sweetened condensed milk & mix until smooth, then pour mixture over pie crust.
Beat egg white & brush onto pie crust. Bake at 350F on the bottom rack for 45 minutes, remove & let it cool to room temperature. Refrigerate it until it’s cold.
Whisk egg whites & sugar over a double boiler until the sugar granules are dissolved. Remove & beat mixture on high speed, until stiff peaks form.
Spread the meringue on top of the pie, torch it & serve.
