STEP 2:
For filling, cook apple butter, butter & flour until smooth & simmering. Remove from heat, allow to cool, then refrigerate until completely cooled.
STEP 5:
Starting at the long end, tightly roll into a log, freeze for 30 min, then slice into 12 rolls. Place into prepared pan & cover with plastic wrap.
STEP 7:
For the frosting, first brown the butter by melting butter on stove until brown speckles of butter form & it begins to smell nutty. Remove from heat & allow to cool.
STEP 8:
Cream brown butter, cream cheese & vanilla until pale & fluffy. Add powdered sugar & salt & beat until dissolved. Spread over the warm cinnamon rolls & serve fresh.
