2017 Favorites

Hey everyone! The New Year is always so bittersweet for me. I love the ‘fresh start’ idea and the thought of everything that lies ahead but then the thought of this past year being history makes me a little sad. Not to mention it’s another reminder of getting older. I’m young but I wanna stay young, lol.  So to end 2017, with all its beautiful memories, I thought I’d make a post about my favorite moments and pictures. I graduated in December of 2016 so I started my big girl job this year and let’s just say it wasn’t the easiest of times. I did work a lot of overtime in the beginning so literally, all these memories are from the second half of 2017.

Photo Above: Townhouse in Detroit. Highly recommend for the atmosphere and burgers!

First trip of the year was Orlando, Florida…which I haven’t done a post on, lol. The photo above and below were both at Universal Studio’s Islands of Adventure. He can never take a decent photo…

Photo Above: Pandora at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom. They opened Pandora that weekend and we waited 4 hours in line to ride Flight of Passage. Definitely worth the wait and that’s coming from someone who hates rides/theme parks. Also this photo is not edited, it was glow-in-the-dark! If I could have my teeth that white and my hair that silver (heart-eye emoji).

Yearly camping trip in July with Narcis’s family; this year was at Black Lake, MI, near Cheboygan. After camping, we drove up another hour or so to Mackinac Island for the day. If you haven’t been, this Island is so small and dainty, you don’t need more than a day to explore the whole Island. There are no cars allowed so you travel on foot, bikes or horses. How beautiful are these horses?!

Labor Day weekend we went to Atlanta, MI with some friends. It’s basically in the middle of nowhere but we stayed in a sweet cabin, with a great view, that fit about 10 people comfortably. Let me know if you’re interested, I can find the owners name for you! This is Evelyn and I in Frankenmuth, we ended up stopping here for lunch and ice cream.

PARISSSSS of course! For our Eurotrip we went to Paris, Switzerland and Spain. You can see some of my travel posts under FLY WITH BI will get my Switzerland and spain trips posted ASAP. I had SO many pictures from these two weeks so it took foreverrrrr, and narrowing it down to just a few was dreadful, cuz I just want to post them all!

We got a caricature drawing done in Barcelona, Spain; definitely a good laugh.

FRIENDSGIVING! Honestly, my favorite part of this was preparing everything. I LOVE baking so I really enjoyed making new things I’ve never made before. Check out my Friendsgiving post to see everything I made.

Also this year I made new friends, lol. This is Mara, she’s my second ‘Instagram husband’. You’ll be seeing more of her on here! Red Wings game with my favorites! Not the best pictures but definitely a good memory, even though we lost 6-1 to St. Louis, lol… they probably didn’t think it was that funny…

THE HOLIDAYS! Christmastime is always full of sweet moments. I was a little sad this year because I worked on Christmas and went to Chicago for New Years so I didn’t get to see my whole family. I did host two Christmas dinners and attended the third one the week before.  It’s not really the same as actually celebrating on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but at least it’s something. I also made this cute/sad/don’treallyknowwhattocall Rudolph cake for a Secret Santa party. His antlers were beautiful before they fell lol oh well, first time for everything, right?!

We didn’t wait to eat here because everyone was too hungry and I was HANGRY, lol. Bottom: Honey Butter Fried Chicken, Chicago

PS. most perfect nude/off white nails: Marshmallow by Essie!

It’s been a great year and I’m sad to see it go. I was at Chicago Tabernacle this past weekend and Pastor Toledo mentioned something about staying strong through the rough times of 2017, like the hurricanes, fires, earthquake, etc. Honestly, when I think about 2017 I think about all the good times because I wasn’t directly affected by any of these natural disasters. We have been so blessed to have never experienced such tragedy and loss. Although I’ve never been through something like this, I pray that everyone who has can use it as an opportunity for growth and not let it ruin their lives. I hope that 2018 will be full of joy, laughter, and blessings for all you beautiful people. I have a million New Years Resolutions which you can read here. Thanks for sticking around, hope you have blessed day and a blessed New Year!

Love, B
